Travalo launches Travel Retail Exclusives
Unique aircraft-safe fragrance atomiser Travalo has kicked up its travel retail presence a notch this month with the announcement that it is to launch new Travalo skus under a Travel Retail Exclusives banner. The concept has been devised by owners Medea International who were new entrants to the travel retail market at the end of 2009. On the back of its success with its three existing units in travel retail (Sleek Silver, Perfect Pink and Bold Gold), the supplier has launched an elegant red Travalo, Simply Red, which is exclusively available for sale with Virgin Atlantic in travel retail. While the unit will have limited online-only distribution in the domestic market, the item will not be available to any other travel retailer, other than Virgin Atlantic. The retailer is listing it alongside the Sleek Silver. The unit will appear exclusively onboard all of Virgin Atlantic’s routes for the listing period April-September and will feature larger packaging than the usual inflight compact packing to highlight its limited edition status. Medea International Managing Director Yusuf Okhai says: “We really want to offer something different for all our existing and potential travel retail partners. We have identified the benefits of investing in the market already and hope this concept brings something new and exciting to the Travalo portfolio in duty-free.” Medea International is happy to develop its Travel Retail Exclusives Range specifically with other retailers on individual colours and other product aspects. In other news, this month distributor Market Connections has secured new accounts with Iceland Air (for Sleek Silver and Perfect Pink) and Iberia for Sleek Silver.
